Bus Aide
About The Position
Marshall Public Schools serves over 2,500 PK-13 students across eight (8) school buildings throughout the Marshall and Albion communities. HOURS: M-F 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM (4.5 hr/day; 22.5 hr/wk) PRIMARY LOCATION(S): Albion RATE OF PAY: $14.77/hr
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent
- Basic understanding and operation of adaptive equipment
- Capable of lifting and moving objects in excess of 60 lbs.
- Demonstrate a caring, patient attitude towards students
- Ability to work well with children and adults
- Ability to react calmly in emergency situations
- Calm and patient demeanor
Responsibilities
- Assist bus driver in maintaining and controlling student behavior/discipline on bus
- Maintain working knowledge of all terms on student data forms
- Maintain individual behavior logs as directed by the Director of Transportation
- Prepare and submit Bus Conduct Reports as necessary
- Inform parents and Director of Transportation of any unused incidents or circumstances
- Discharge students only at authorized stops
- Administer first aid as necessary
- Serve as primaryp rovider as established in the school district's Bloodborne Pathogen policy and procedures
- Remain informed with established transportation department emergency procedures
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation
