About The Position

The Department of Agriculture seeks an experienced facility manager for the position of Bureau Chief, Buildings and Grounds. This position is an integral part of the team that provides the day to -day operation and maintenance of all facility management functions on the Illinois State and Du Quoin State Fairgrounds. This position supervises two Facility Managers, who provide daily supervision to our teams of trades and buildings & grounds professionals. We encourage qualified applicants to apply today. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to (4) four years of college in business management, property management, facility management or related field.
  • Requires (4) four years of progressively responsible administrative work experience in business management or facility management of a public or business organization.
  • Requires completion of a name-based background screening and self-disclosure of criminal history.
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties. Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license. Overnight travel may be required.
  • Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime. This requires the ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Certain provisions of the revolving door restrictions contained in 5 ILCS 430/5-45 apply to this position.
  • This position has been found to meet the requirements in section 4A-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act requiring the occupant/employee to file a Statement of Economic Interest.
  • This position will have no remote work capability.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Bureau Chief for the Bureau of Buildings and Grounds, performing highly responsible managerial functions in determining policy for the operations of the Illinois State and DuQuoin State Fairgrounds and any other Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) property.
  • Serves as full-line supervisor.
  • Develops and implements standard operational procedures, policies and techniques to support IDOA with quality facility management services.
  • Directs program budget and controls the allocation of expenditures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
