Here's how a Building Systems Coordinator for our Atlantic Canada office contributes to our team:Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Tradesperson or post-secondary diploma/degree in a related discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, controls) is preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years of progressive experience in mechanical/electrical construction preferred.
  • Understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems, principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, architectural, civil, and structural drawings.
  • Understanding of the requirement for building codes.
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks with conflicting deadlines, and delegate tasks.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Understanding of architectural and other trade scopes.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the coordination drawing process and provides direction on model coordination, as required.
  • Reviews and understands prime contract and building systems subcontract details and ensures contract management of the trade contractors.
  • Assists with the review of change notices/orders related to building systems for pricing, scope, and schedule impact.
  • Liaises with utility providers to provide services to the project as per project schedule.
  • Accepts submission of building systems trade contractor quality-management programs and reviews for completeness and compliance with project specifications.
  • Attends management, owner, and architect meetings related to building systems.
  • Coordinates and monitors the building systems trades activity and enforces the preapproved trade contractor quality-management programs.
  • Adheres to and supports internal safety programs.
  • Understand of temporary services requirements for projects.
