About The Position

You'll lead the strategic management of critical airport systems and infrastructure, overseeing everything from baggage handling and passenger boarding bridges to electrical distribution and fuel systems. This role combines high-level strategic planning with hands-on operational oversight, ensuring seamless airport operations while managing multimillion-dollar capital projects and maintaining regulatory compliance across multiple governing bodies.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in critical infrastructure management
  • 10+ years in aviation industry or similar 24/7 operations environment
  • 5+ years in senior leadership roles managing large technical teams
  • Experience with regulatory compliance (FAA, TSA, EPA requirements)
  • Proven track record managing capital projects with budgets of $50M-$200M+
  • Airport security clearance eligibility and ability to obtain required badging

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field)
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license
  • Aviation-specific certifications or training programs
  • Experience with airport master planning and development projects
  • Background in sustainability and energy efficiency program implementation
  • Familiarity with union environments and collective bargaining processes
  • Previous experience with Part 139 Airport Operating Certificate compliance

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning sessions with executive leadership on infrastructure development and capital project priorities
  • Conduct facility tours and inspections to assess critical system performance across terminal, utility, and passenger operation
  • Coordinate with airlines, TSA, customs, and regulatory agencies on system maintenance, compliance requirements, and operational impacts
  • Manage emergency response situations and system outages requiring immediate technical decision-making and stakeholder communication
  • Review maintenance reports, analyze system data for predictive maintenance opportunities, and oversee asset lifecycle planning
  • Lead multidisciplinary team meetings with engineers, technicians, and specialists to ensure operational excellence and safety compliance
  • Maintain 24/7 emergency response availability with irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as critical operations demand
