About The Position

PENN Entertainment is seeking a Building Maintenance Tech III to join their team. The company is in the entertainment industry, offering a fast-paced environment and a diverse set of co-workers. The role involves planning and executing projects from start to finish, including creating material lists, obtaining quotes, laying out timelines, scheduling man-hours, coordinating material delivery, and completing projects on schedule and within budget with minimal disruption to business. The technician is responsible for maintaining shop areas, spare parts areas, storage areas, inventory materials, equipment, and associated parts across various trades. This includes providing preventative maintenance and repairs of all mechanical equipment (air, plumbing, electrical), and actively participating in all aspects of the Facilities Department, such as painting, cleaning, preventative maintenance, filter changes, and moving material, both inside and outside the facility. The position also requires troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration equipment, informing supervisors of any trends or recurring problems, and performing electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or carpentry tasks as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Must be certified in a skilled construction or building maintenance trade, i.e. Carpenter, Carpet Layer, Plumber, Pipe Fitter, Electrician, HVAC Technician etc.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Good communications skills
  • Proficient in the use of all power and hand tools
  • Proficient in welding, blazing and soldering
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other team members of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Five years of direct experience in desired trade
  • Knowledge of general maintenance procedures and training or experience in the field of commercial kitchen equipment repair
  • Ability to share or divide attention among several ongoing activities, projects, or assignments
  • Ability to work effectively, independently and as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge of general repairs, installations, any electrical repair of 120/240 single phase, painting and wall papering, plumbing, carpentry, and drywall in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members of organization

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute projects from the beginning to end, including creating a material list and obtaining quotes, laying out the time line, scheduling the man hours needed, coordinating the delivery of all materials and completing the project on schedule and within budget with as little disruption to normal business as possible
  • Maintain shop area, spare parts area, storage area, inventory materials, equipment and associated parts of all the various trades
  • Provide preventative maintenance and repairs of all mechanical equipment (i.e. air, plumbing, electrical)
  • Be an active team member in all aspects of the Facilities Department, including but not limited to, painting, cleaning, preventative maintenance, filter changes, moving material
  • Troubleshoot and repair all equipment operations (i.e. electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration)
  • Inform supervisor of any trends or recurring problems with equipment or construction
  • Perform electrical, HVAC, plumbing or carpentry if requested by a member of management
  • Possess the ability to work from heights including ladders, scaffolds and lifts
  • Assist other Facilities Technicians when required or assigned
  • Operate all tools of the trades including power tools safely, maintaining and caring for those tools on a regular basis
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license in your state of residence and maintain a clean driving record
  • Maintain driver’s license on their person at all times
  • Exhibit friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with customers and fellow team members
  • Perform any and all duties as assigned by your Supervisor or a member of management
