About The Position

Building Engineer -Apprentice plays a crucial role in ensuring that the Club's physical property meets all required standards. This includes safety, appearance, and operational standards, all within the framework of the budgetary goals. The position requires the preparation of an inventory of parts to support various departments. As part of their duties, the Maintenance Technician assists in scheduling contractors or supervising them on-site, completing work orders, and conducting inspections. Furthermore, they must adhere to the Club's operational and safety policies and Federal, State, and Local laws. The ideal applicant will be responsible for diagnosing and performing minor or routine maintenance or repair as directed by the Director of Engineering. This will include electrical and plumbing work, such as water lines, A/C and heating systems, commercial cooking appliances, water irrigation systems, stairs, gates, fences, patios, railings, walls, tile, carpet, flooring, roofing, gutters, fasteners, interior/exterior lights, fireplaces, ceiling fans, gas fixtures and appliances, shutters, doors, cabinets, windows, sliding glass doors, door locks and hardware, security systems, water intrusion, and pool areas, tile, hot tub/spa, steam room. Additionally, they will be responsible for inspecting common interior and exterior areas, informing their supervisor of needed maintenance and repairs, and keeping the grounds neat and free of litter. The hours for this position are from 2am to 10am.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of multi-family maintenance technician experience are required
  • experience and expertise in performing maintenance, repair, and service for all aspects of HVAC equipment
  • stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, washers, and dryers, painting and sheetrock repairs, electrical repairs such as breaker replacement, ceiling fan installation, and building light installation
  • plumbing repairs including the use of snake or jet vac to handle building backups and knowledge of proper safety precautions
  • able to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • use their hands to feel and handle objects, as well as reach with their arms
  • able to sit, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl throughout a shift
  • lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • push/pull up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • carry up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • good depth perception and adjust focus

Nice To Haves

  • A pool maintenance certificate and HVAC certification, I and II or Universal are preferred
