What You'll Do: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Building Engineer to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of our properties. This role involves a diverse range of responsibilities, from routine upkeep to addressing maintenance requests and potential emergency situations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess a strong understanding of building systems and maintenance best practices. This position reports directly to the Property and Facilities Manager.

Requirements

EPA Universal Certification
OSHA 8-Hour Certification
Proven experience in building maintenance and repair.
Strong understanding of various building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must possess a clean driving record.
Successful completion of a background check is required.

Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certification
Journeyman Electrician License
Journeyman Plumbing License

Responsibilities

Conduct regular property visits to assess condition and identify maintenance needs.
Perform general site upkeep, including trash clean-up and ensuring proper placement of dumpsters.
Monitor properties for damage and address issues such as graffiti removal and cover-up.
Collect and report stray shopping carts and report any instances of vagrancy on property.
Be available for occasional travel to various locations including California, Arizona, NYE County, and Mesquite to address work orders.
Perform plumbing repairs and installations, including faucets, water heaters, pipe repair, and other service-related tasks.
Execute landscape repairs and general maintenance.
Identify and repair water leaks effectively.
Conduct lighting repairs and installations, including proficiency in using a multimeter.
Perform HVAC maintenance tasks such as filter changes and coil cleanings.
Undertake roof cleanings and minor repairs.
Complete interior and exterior painting projects.
Assist with furniture moving and assembly as needed.
Replace and repair ceiling tiles.
Respond to on-call building needs on an emergency basis (infrequent).
