About The Position

The health services that became the Anthony L Jordan Health Corporation (Jordan Health) began more than 100 years ago, in 1904. As one of the first 5 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) established in the nation, its roots are steeped in service to those who face barriers to health and health care, meeting their need for comprehensive medical, dentistry, behavioral health, and community services. Starting in northeast Rochester, NY, Jordan Health has since expanded to become a network of primary care offices and health centers serving residents living in three quadrants of Rochester, NY and in Canandaigua, N.Y. Jordan Health is now seeking a Building and Grounds Assistant who, under the guidance of the Facilities Manager, is primarily responsible for duties that include ground keeping, and indoor and outdoor building repairs. Suites also include transporting mail, supplies and medications for the pharmacy as needed. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License.
  • Ability and desire to work hard
  • Landscaping experience
  • Ability to safely work in hazardous weather conditions.
  • Time management; ability to accomplish critically important work in a timely manner
  • Resource management to help keep track of replacement parts and supplies
  • Attention to detail to follow exact procedures
  • Communication skills coordination and collaboration with Facilities staff
  • Problem-solving skills, the ability to solve issues by finding viable solutions promptly
  • Organizational skills, ability to prioritize maintenance and repairs
  • Ability to work under pressure in a loud or stressful environment
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely while following all traffic laws and requirements set in Jordan Health pharmacy driver protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general and detailed maintenance
  • Order supplies to ensure adequate levels
  • Respond to emergency call-ins
  • Deliver mail, supplies, and medications.
