What you’ll do Observe on-site construction staff Schedule and communicate with subcontractors, inspectors and suppliers Collaborate and resolve daily on-site matters Inspect ongoing work for general compliance with codes, plans and specifications, and safety regulations Manage construction and production schedule of assigned homes from start to close, including 30-day warranty service request signoff Ensure on-time QA readiness Attend regular staff meetings, and discuss safety, quality, starts and closings, production timelines, costs and other issues as determined by Area Construction Manager or VP of Construction Walk each home twice daily to ensure imperfections are noted, general compliance with codes, plans and specifications, and safety regulations, and homebuyers’ options and extras are as requested Update online construction schedules daily Conduct on-site vendor, subcontractor and homeowner meetings Assist, as needed, with scheduling material orders, verifying accuracy of material delivery, and providing adjustments Manage loss prevention and lock/secure homes daily Schedule municipal inspections Assist inspectors with inspections, and rectify issues as required Ensure homes and sites are clean during construction Monitor daily work functions: timeliness, general quality of workmanship, safety, hygiene adherence, scopes of work and completion of work Review subcontractor work for completion before approving invoices and/or PO’s for payment Coordinate activities with other staff (Site and Head Office) to for seamless production operation Work with the Sales, Operations and Warranty teams to verify any and all punch items are completed prior to closing of the home Participate in jobsite safety management by logging infractions Ensure adherence to Mattamy Policy and Procedures Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of experience in residential construction with building homes from start to finish
  • General knowledge of applicable residential building codes
  • Proficient in construction scheduling with builder software
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Adhere to procedures as required by the subcontractor Scopes of Work and Mattamy Quality Standards and take corrective action as necessary
  • Conduct a detailed frame check on each unit prior to drywall, in accordance with Mattamy Policy and Procedures, and follow up to ensure the timely completion of any items noted
  • Ensure all work is being done in a safe manner and enforce safety standards
  • Must have, or be able to become, 10 hour OSHA certified
  • Must have, or be able to become, SWPPP Certified
  • Exemplify excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with Oversee internal and external customers, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and others
  • Work well under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Exhibit computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook and construction scheduling software)
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and perform special projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License and be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs,, climb stairs and ladders, walk over uneven terrain, and work in an outdoor environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction or related program preferred
  • BuildPro software experience preferred
