About The Position

The Budget and Financial Analyst II provides professional support for budget formulation, execution, and financial process improvement initiatives. This role prepares financial reports, analyzes expenditure trends, and supports the development and automation of government financial business practices. The position serves as a liaison between financial and technical stakeholders to ensure effective integration of accounting principles and automated financial systems. Requirements

  • Approximately four (4) years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, accounting, or related financial management functions.
  • Experience supporting budget formulation and expenditure tracking.
  • Familiarity with governmental financial processes preferred.
  • Experience working with automated financial systems or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and interpret accounting reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both financial and IT personnel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and financial reporting tools.
  • Ability to document processes and recommend system improvements.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Business, Finance, Management, Accounting, or a related field required;OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Familiarity with governmental financial processes preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support budget formulation and budget execution activities.
  • Prepare regular and special budget reports for management review.
  • Analyze monthly department budgeting and accounting reports to monitor expenditures and maintain internal controls.
  • Identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for process improvement.
  • Assist in defining governmental financial business practices and operational workflows.
  • Support the development and implementation of automated financial solutions aligned with defined processes.
  • Determine feasibility and recommend improvements for automating financial business practices.
  • Serve as a liaison between financial specialists and IT or automation specialists.
  • Communicate effectively with both financial and technical personnel to document processes and recommend enhancements.
  • Apply accounting and data processing principles in the design and improvement of financial systems.
  • Support compliance with applicable financial regulations, policies, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in process documentation and system integration efforts.
