Purpose of Role The Broker Dealer Operations - Equity Intern supports the full equity trade lifecycle by ensuring timely and accurate trade confirmation, clearance, and settlement. The role is responsible for reconciling trade, cash, and position data, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining high‑quality operational reporting and records. It also collaborates with internal and external partners to address operational issues, monitors corporate actions, and contributes to process and technology enhancements that strengthen overall trade operations efficiency.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, finance, or mathematics is preferred but business analytics is accepted.
  • Genuine interest in one or more of the program’s departmental tracks.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship, including, but not limited to, F-1, J-1, and M-1 visa holders, as well as individuals on CPT or OPT.

Responsibilities

  • Support the full trade lifecycle by assisting with equity trade confirmation, clearance, and settlement.
  • Verify and reconcile trade data with counterparties, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist with cash and position reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Prepare and update daily operational reports and maintain internal databases with trade information.
  • Collaborate with trading desks, prime brokers, custodians, and compliance teams to resolve operational issues.
  • Monitor corporate actions such as dividends and stock splits, ensuring accurate impact on positions.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support technology enhancements for operational efficiency.
  • Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values.
  • At all times complying with Marex’s Code of Conduct.
  • To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility.
