A Day in the Life of the Detect, troubleshoot and resolve system outages in aerial and/or underground capacities related to transmission levels, signal losses and off-air interference. Prepare and perform emergency aerial and/or underground coaxial cable restoration due to variables such as cable breaks and/or damage Perform preventative maintenance (power supply, actives) in the form of testing, balancing, alignment and adjustments of components or equipment Monitor, record and repair cable leakage, complying with applicable regulations Complete fiber splicing activities in any routine and/or emergency situations independently Complete and distribute required documentation, such as work orders and daily logs Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation. Rotation may vary on staffing availability. Other duties as assigned, including late night and early morning work and coverage for maintenance windows
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years (Maintenance Technician II in telecommunications industry)
- Maintain satisfactory driving record and have a valid driver's license
- Ability to read and interpret maps
- Bucket Certified
- Ohm’s Understanding of Outside Plant
- Knowledge of Ladder

Responsibilities
- Detect, troubleshoot and resolve system outages in aerial and/or underground capacities related to transmission levels, signal losses and off-air interference.
- Prepare and perform emergency aerial and/or underground coaxial cable restoration due to variables such as cable breaks and/or damage
- Perform preventative maintenance (power supply, actives) in the form of testing, balancing, alignment and adjustments of components or equipment
