Your Opportunity Stantec's New York City office has an immediate need for a Bridge Inspector Assistant Team Leader. The position will work out of our 5th Avenue office. This position is for an individual looking to challenge themselves on a professional level on a variety of bridge assessment and evaluation projects and grow their bridge inspection experience. The successful candidates will join a growing team of transportation professionals and contribute to the inspection component of bridge projects throughout New York Metro Area.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Available for flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation and Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field and working toward licensure
  • Prior Bridge inspection experience is preferred but not required.

Nice To Haves

  • Completed NYSDOT Bridge Inspection Workshop or 2-week NHI course
  • SPRAT-Certified Level I Technician or willingness to attend training for certification
  • OSHA 30 and Aerial Lift Certified

Responsibilities

  • The work will include field inspection of various size bridges including but not limited to suspension, major bridge viaducts and crossings in the New York City (NYC) Metro
  • You will be responsible for meeting the demands of high-profile clients, including NYSDOT, Port Authority of NY & NJ, TBTA, and NYCDOT
  • You will work with a qualified Inspection Team Leader both in the field and in the office to perform bridge condition evaluation and documentation
