AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Bridge Engineer-In-Training (EIT) to join our Structures East Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Raleigh, North Carolina . YOUR ROLE Execute drafting ‑ focused work, producing bridge plans and sheets to learn foundational bridge terminology, components, standards, and how a complete plan set is assembled. Support senior engineers with plan production, detailing, assembling specifications, and performing basic calculations to build hands ‑ on familiarity with bridge elements and construction requirements. Progress through increasingly advanced design responsibilities, starting with component ‑ level design, then moving into system ‑ level analysis, and eventually contributing to full bridge design as skills and professional proficiency grow. Prepare material for reports, including gathering information, writing rough outlines, and assisting with documentation and graphic presentations. Perform data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, evaluating site conditions, and reviewing relevant regulatory agency specifications or requirements. Participates in projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with easily interpreted specifications; assists in recordkeeping and in generating progress reports; observes relatively simple construction procedures; and collects samples for quality control testing. Performs field observations of construction where appropriate . Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
