As a senior Brain Health Analyst, you will conduct and apply advanced health science and academic research expertise to solve complex science and technology challenges for clients. You will advanced scientific consulting skills and extensive technical expertise supported by full industry knowledge to develop innovative solutions to complex problems in the domain of brain health, specifically focusing on TBI and cognitive performance to the brain injury research and trauma analysis initiatives. In this role, you will work with limited direction and may mentor team members. What You'll Work On: Apply expertise in neurobiology to conduct, analyze, and interpret research relevant to TBI and its effects. Design and execute translational studies connecting foundational neurobiological research with clinically or operationally relevant outcomes, specifically regarding cognitive performance. Review, analyze, and synthesize large volumes of scientific literature, clinical trial data, and program results to develop evidence-based recommendations for brain injury research and trauma analysis leadership. Proactively identify critical gaps in current brain health research and recommend future study areas to meet the strategic needs of the client. Prepare high-quality scientific and technical documents, including white papers, technical reports, protocols, and briefings for presentation to military, government, and scientific stakeholders. Provide expert support to the development and refinement of strategic plans, roadmaps, and long-term objectives for government-sponsored brain health research and TBI initiatives. Act as a subject matter expert liaison between government sponsors, external research institutions, clinical providers, and internal program teams to ensure alignment of scientific efforts. Assist in shaping and reviewing technical volumes for proposals, focusing on the scientific and methodological rigor of proposed brain health research. Deliver formal presentations and briefings to senior leadership, working groups, and advisory boards on scientific progress, strategic implications, and key findings. Advise on the adherence to all necessary regulatory, ethical, and compliance requirements such as Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) protocols related to TBI or brain health research. Monitor and review the technical execution of contracted research projects to ensure scientific integrity and alignment with the client's scope and objectives. Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in professional scientific research, including on TBI neurobiology or cognitive performance
  • Experience with scientific data analysis and reporting tools
  • Experience performing translations studies on cognitive performance
  • Experience providing strategic planning for brain health or TBI research
  • Knowledge of neurobiology, TBI pathophysiology, or cognitive neuroscience
  • Knowledge of the Department of Defense (DoD) or Veterans Affairs (VA) research enterprise, including programs related to TBI
  • Ability to conduct or oversee translational research with clear operational or clinical applications
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicate strategic planning efforts, and explain complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Doctorate degree in a Neuroscience, Neurobiology, or Biomedical Science field

Nice To Haves

  • Experience directly supporting the brain injury research and trauma analysis mission or similar high-level DoD or VA TBI initiatives
  • Experience with successful grant writing in the field of TBI or cognitive science
  • Ability to show a history of peer-reviewed publications
  • Possession of excellent organizational, analytical, and written and verbal communication skills
