Bookkeeper/Payroll Specialist position will handle all financial and payroll information. This person will be tasked with running payroll, handling benefit programs, and submitting all government forms, sales tax payments, and payroll deductions. Payroll Specialist ensures that employee payroll processing is in compliance with federal and state laws. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance or related business field.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, administration of payroll, related payroll tax reporting.
  • 2 years of full-time professional experience in accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll and payroll reports in field of study.
  • Experience in services related to payroll such as writing checks and submitting payroll taxes.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processes, including data collection, validation, reconciliation, timesheets, and timely, error-free payroll cycles.
  • Oversee HRIS and timekeeping systems, ensuring accurate records, attendance monitoring, and updates to exemptions, deductions, and organizational changes.
  • Execute payroll runs and handle garnishments, reimbursements, bonuses, incentives, stop payments, and job status changes with accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure correct calculation of payroll liabilities (taxes, Social Security, unemployment, workers’ comp), maintaining compliance with federal/state regulations and grant requirements.
  • Process benefit enrollments, changes, claims, and leave policies; align payroll with benefits; and provide professional support to employees with payroll/benefit inquiries.
  • Compile and present payroll, benefits, and compensation reports for leadership; safeguard sensitive employee data; and maintain secure, compliant recordkeeping.
