About The Position

HireUp Talent is partnering with Young Berman Karpf & Karpf, P.A in Fort Lauderdale, FL to identify an experienced Bookkeeper / Billing Specialist to support the firm’s financial operations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with law firm experience who understands trust accounting, billing processes, and financial reporting within a legal environment. The ideal candidate thrives in a deadline-driven setting and brings both technical accuracy and strong communication skills.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, including hands-on trust account management and trust ledger reconciliation
  • 3+ years of QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with at least intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience with Clio Legal Software required
  • Strong financial statement preparation expertise
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience within a law firm environment strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports
  • Maintain and reconcile multiple accounts, including trust accounts and trust ledgers
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of client financial reporting and general ledger structures
  • Manage accounting in QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online (QBO), and Accounting Creative Solutions
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end close processes
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial and non-financial data
  • Oversee billing processes and ensure compliance with firm and regulatory requirements
  • Utilize Clio Legal Software for billing and trust accounting management
  • Collaborate with department managers and executive leadership to support overall firm goals
  • Manage workflow efficiently while meeting tight deadlines
