About The Position

Perform various data entry, accounting, budget monitoring, and assistance with internal and external accounting and reporting functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • One or more years related work experience in a higher education, non-profit, or mid-sized company environment preferred.
  • Applicant must possess excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite with a strong background in Excel.
  • Knowledge of network general ledger systems and report writing software a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and review expenditures for proper G/L account coding, University policy compliance, budget fund availability, and reasonableness.
  • Expectations are to make corrections and modifications when necessary, including budget reallocations in the ERP system.
  • Review and process expense reports and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Complete bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain and reconcile travel advances.
  • Input journal entries into the accounting system for the monthly and year-end close process.
  • Process, post, and reconcile prepaid expenses.
  • Create, input and maintain excel spreadsheets related to various budgetary accounts.
  • Assist with year-end close and prepare schedules/respond to requests as needed.
  • Serve as backup to other staff in the Business Office as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
