About The Position

Working closely with their supervisor, the Book Advertising and Promotions Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing an integrated inbound 12-month advertising and promotions plan to achieve the monthly and quarterly sales projections. This position is responsible for managing the HubSpot email list and producing and sending CRS Publishing advertising and marketing emails. The Book Promotions and Reseller Specialist develops a deep knowledge of CRS’ catalog of front- and backlist titles and upcoming pipeline. They work closely with project editors to plan, manage, and launch a comprehensive promo plan for new titles and with advertised institutes and business development to plan the bookstore for exhibits and tradeshows. The Book Advertising and Promotions Specialist is responsible for sustaining and developing new reseller relations, managing advertising and campaign portals for a variety of resellers, including Amazon Vendor Central and holding buyer and advertising conversations aimed at increasing resellers’ purchase of our retail products. Responsible for comprehensive, multi-month book launch strategies designed to build anticipation, maximize visibility, and drive sales, typically structured as pre-launch, launch week, and post-launch phases. The position requires frequent face-to-face meetings and works closely with their supervisor and in collaboration with finance to review and analyze title performance to identify opportunities for sales and buyers to identify opportunities for market expansion, partnership and/or customer success support with retail products. This is an in-office position and is not eligible for teleworking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Communication, English preferred. marketing, communication, or education
  • Experience with paid advertising, especially on platforms like Amazon Ads, Goodreads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Ads,
  • Familiar with or able to quickly learn and demonstrate proficiency in promotions and advertising requirements, optimizing Amazon Vendor Portal as well as other reseller vendor portals, and managing ad campaigns.
  • Knowledge of and experience with HubSpot preferred; quickly able to develop mastery-level competence in using HubSpot to send advertising and transactional emails.
  • Experience managing projects and timelines for pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases.
  • Ability to work closely with authors, editors, and designers to create a cohesive marketing strategy and consistently meet strict deadlines.
  • Able to work and thrive in an open suite, highly collaborative environment.
  • Able to follow directions for writing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and to recognize when an SOP needs to be written.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate ideas.
  • Excellent attention to detail and impeccable follow-up.
  • Responsive and able to adapt to changing priorities and environments.
  • Proficiency with GSuite and Gmail.
