About The Position

This position is responsible for the setup and configuration of production data, sewing data and service data that facilitates Work Orders for the business to address dealer orders as it relates to parts, assemblies, style building, style configuration, logistics, production ticket output and Work Orders for all products run in the La-Z-Boy manufacturing environments both domestic and foreign, including international setups, ensuring that all inputs into Agile & Oracle / E1 are correct and meet the needs of our manufacturing facilities and the end customer.

Requirements

  • Associate degree with 0-2 Years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Creative/ detail oriented /strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work – accuracy is critical.
  • Strong investigative/problem solving skills and abilities.
  • Strong Organizational, Planning, Time Management, and Project Management skills.

  • Understanding of La-Z-Boy style designs concentrating on frame, upholstery, sewn sets and contents of unit.
  • Blueprint reading skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the bill of materials for: Wood, polyurethane, metal, rough parts, assemblies, modular bill of materials and Planning Styles using prints, woods lists, PPIS (Plywood Parts Information Sheets), Accounting Formulas and direction from other departments and plants based on how the item is purchased or produced in the plants.
  • Sewn Sets including production and service using Cloth and Leather Books, Cloth and Leather Sew Notes, Upholstery Contents Lists, Area Perimeter Reports, Assyst Software and EC Forms provided by the Design Teams
  • Service applications (Service Systems and Dayton Service Center) using information provided by Engineering and the Design Teams and work with Monroe Service to address customer orders and respond to any questions posed. This includes research and setup of particular needs of the customer.
  • Assign those parts/assemblies, modular bill of materials and Planning Styles to the appropriate plants and setup their manufacturing coding as directed.
  • Analyze and confirm supplied information and populate data fields into E1 that supports Logistics (Weight, Cube and Seat Factor) to be used in the shipping of units to a dealer.
  • Setup E1 coding for Production Ticket data that supports the cells in the Upholstery Plants to produce a unit (Stain, Options, Box Data, Rocker Spring and Location, Toggle Position). This data supports data for legal requirements for units sold domestically and shipped outside the country.
  • Setup System for Yearly Scrap Factors for Accounting to ensure accuracy in inventory relief and prevent data variances. Includes exporting all parts affected, and then re-loading back into the systems with updated scrap factors.
  • Investigate and research issues or concerns from various departments in the company dealing with inventory, cost, logistics. Once an issue is identified, update the item to resolve the issue.
  • Communicates with plants and other company departments to determine effective dates, processes changes and inventory controls.
