Are you with us?!? Role The successful candidate will supervise the Boilerhouse and mill infrastructure preservation. This person will also provide weekend coverage on a rotating basis for mill maintenance; and carry out responsibilities in a manner which will help ensure an injury-free environment, maximum productivity, and quality in the most efficient and economical manner.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in maintenance/engineering field, bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • At least four years or more of related experience in maintenance and demonstrated supervisory ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems, lead change and drive improvement.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Possess functional/technical skills related to job responsibilities
  • Solid supervisory, leadership, decision-making and communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Drive to produce results and willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Skills in SAP or previous experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • As a leader in the mill, help ensure all mill employees are “safety is my first job” by teaching, coaching, and following up to ensure established safe work practices are being followed as well as compliance to federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Supervise Boilerhouse operators and operations (2 gas powered boilers, 1 steam turbine and auxiliary equipment).
  • Lead the maintenance work prioritization and execution on Boiler and Turbine improvements (capital & expense), with Boilerhouse operators and other experts input and contributions.
  • Lead and coordinate all activities associated with Boilerhouse annual outages.
  • Infrastructure leadership related to HVAC, elevators, railroad tracks, grounds upkeep, air compressors, manlifts, scales, roofs, fencing, gates, pressure vessels, tanks & other facility preservation needs.
  • Leadership and coordination of outage activities related to infrastructure needs with a focus on meeting time and budget goals.
  • Support mill reliability systems to maximize reliability and mill improvement processes.
  • Provide leadership and coordination with contractors related to mill infrastructure and Boilerhouse activities.
  • Implement and manage a comprehensive long-term facility preservation plan with a focus on documentation, timely communication and planning to ensure time and resources are allocated properly.
  • Maintain harmonious relations with employees by administering contract provisions and company policies to ensure conformance to work rules and regulations.
  • Provide weekend coverage of all mill maintenance operations and Boilerhouse as scheduled.
