What You’ll Do: Our well-established repair facility is seeking an experienced and results-driven Body Shop Manager to lead our team of skilled technicians. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in service management and a proven track record of effective leadership in a transportation industry setting. The Body Shop Manager supervises the day-to-day operations of the body shop, schedules the flow of work in the shop, manages body shop technicians, visits customers, provides estimates for customers, inspects work done to ensure quality.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Service Manager in the transportation industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Self-motivated and self-starter
  • Ability to approach any situation with a positive attitude
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to pass post offer drug test, and physical

Responsibilities

  • Selects body shop technicians for hire (responsible for leading the shop operations by hiring, retaining, developing and consistently improving the shop/culture)
  • Manages day-to-day operations of the body shop
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations
  • Enforces company’s policies and procedures
  • Provides training, scheduling, assigning, coaching, counseling to body shop technicians
  • Communicates job expectations and monitors progress
  • Appraises and reviews job contributions
  • Provides prompt and courteous service: both on the phone and in person
  • Provides estimates for customers
  • Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received
  • Itemizes invoices after work is finished
  • Opens and closes repair orders
  • Approves expenditures for department
  • Approves outsourcing of services
  • Places parts order with the Parts Department
  • Purchases supplies and paint materials
