Requirements
- A self-motivated team player that is able to communicate effectively with team members
- Must be able to stoop, bend, and twist on a daily basis.
- Previous experience in auto body work and repairs is required.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- Pass a motor vehicle report and possess a safe driving record.
- Pass a criminal background check and drug test.
- Also subject to random drug testing at the company’s request.
Nice To Haves
- I-Car certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- As a Body Shop Estimator , you would be responsible for ensuring customers’ vehicles are assessed and given a repair estimate, then relaying that information to the body shop technician so that the car can be repaired in a timely fashion.
- Estimators should pay close attention to detail. Continued training would be provided.
- Assesses damaged vehicle to determine extent of structural, body, mechanical, or interior design.
- Estimates cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item.
- Determines feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts, such as bumpers, fenders, and doors.
- Evaluates practicality of repair as opposed to payment of vehicle market value before accident.
- Determines salvage value of total vehicle loss.
- Prepares insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations.
- Estimates cost of repairing, converting to special purposes, or customizing undamaged vehicles.
- Reviews the completed vehicle to check quality and thoroughness
