About The Position

As a Body Shop Estimator, your primary purpose is to accurately assess vehicle damage and provide precise repair estimates to customers. You will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering transparent and reliable information, while also supporting the efficient operation of the body shop.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in automotive repair or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an automotive body shop environment.
  • Proven track record of accurately estimating repair costs and timelines.
  • Experience with insurance claims processing and negotiation.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes and techniques.
  • Proficiency in using estimating software and tools, such as CCC ONE or Mitchell.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers, insurance adjusters, and team members.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates and tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing estimates and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to providing exceptional service.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate damaged vehicles to determine necessary repairs and estimate the cost of parts and labor.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to explain the repair process, costs, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with technicians and other body shop staff to ensure accurate and efficient repair estimates.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate written estimates and documentation for insurance claims and customer records.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, repair techniques, and vehicle technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Assist in managing the workflow and scheduling of repairs to optimize shop productivity and customer satisfaction.
