The position reports to the Director of the Clinical Laboratory and the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (HSCT/CT) Medical Director. The role is responsible for performing and reporting waived, moderate, and high‑complexity clinical laboratory and cell therapy procedures in accordance with FACT, CAP, CLIA/CMS, FDA (cGTP/cGMP), IEC Commercial Manufacturer, and Joint Commission standards. The successful candidate: Key Responsibilities Perform, analyze, and report clinical laboratory and cell therapy testing with full regulatory compliance. Support the education, training, and competency assessment of laboratory and cell therapy staff. Develop, implement, and maintain procedures, training materials, competency programs, and proficiency testing for Cell Therapy and Flow Cytometry operations. Collaborate closely with HSCT/CT Quality, Regulatory, and Compliance teams to ensure ongoing adherence to FDA and FACT requirements. Participate in HSCT/CT QA&I Committee meetings, accreditation activities, and regulatory inspections. Collect, organize, and provide data for outcome analysis and quality initiatives. Demonstrate increasing expertise in troubleshooting and analyzing laboratory and cell therapy testing systems. Develop and maintain record‑management systems for cellular therapy products. Maintain a deep understanding of cell therapy and flow cytometry operations, contributing to staff development and future testing capabilities. Serve as a technical resource for the clinical laboratory, HSCT/CT staff, supervisors, managers, directors, and medical directors. Perform duties as authorized by the Laboratory Director under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA), CFR.

Requirements

  • Requires Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent.
  • (BS Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science; Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with MT certification.
  • Certification required (ASCP, AMT, AAB )

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer a minimum of 2-year experience in a cellular therapy laboratory setting; or a minimum of four years in clinical hematology or blood bank setting preferred.
  • Bone marrow and/or stem cell processing, blood banking, hematology, cell culture and apheresis preferred.
  • Working and theoretical knowledge of cellular therapy laboratory instrumentation & procedures, cGTP and cGMP preferred.
