About The Position

Westerman, Inc., an employee-owned company, is a multiple site manufacturer of production and storage equipment within the oil, gas, and nuclear industries. Our equipment helps optimize well pad design, improve separation efficiency and lower overall equipment spend through high-performance surface separation and processing technology. Our equipment is setting new standards for performance and economics nationwide. SUMMARY The Blaster role prepares the product for paint by surface protection, and profiling per job instructions. The position is responsible for moving the product to the paint booth. The Blaster will also remove all tape and paper after the product is completely dry and maintains a clean and safe area. A successful candidate is a self-motivated multi-tasker that utilizes a strong work ethic to ensure all painting quality levels are met.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 1-year previous industrial blasting experience preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills in order to troubleshoot most common recurring problems without assistance required.
Experience in a leadership position
Intermediate math skills required.
Basic safety training required.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, up to entire length of shift.
Must be able to exert moderate to heavy physical effort with lifting requirement up to 50 pounds.
Must have strong range of motion.
Must be able to sit, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and bend.
Must be able to see, speak, and hear.
Must be able to read instructions and all measuring devices.
Must use fingers and hands to manipulate tools and small parts.
Must be able to walk over both even and uneven surfaces.
Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
Must be able to wear appropriate PPE.
Must be physically able to access all areas of the plant and grounds.
Some aspects of this position may require working in tight quarters.
Some aspects of this position may require close vision, depth perception, the ability to see small detail, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Regular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function of each position and is necessary to your individual effectiveness and that of your work group. Regular and punctual attendance is required of all employees.
Apply proper blast profile to product assuring all oil and dirt is removed.
Marks and masks off areas of product using tape and masking paper to protect it while surrounding areas are painted.
Removes and disposes of tape and masking paper after the paint is dry.
Caulks cracks when necessary, using pneumatic and hand-pump caulking guns.
Moves product into the paint booth and coordinates job flow making sure correct kits are with units.
Sands or otherwise prepares surface for painting.
Performs necessary quality assurance measures and appropriate paperwork as required.
Maintains clean work area and proper blast protection inventory levels.
Performs the duties mentioned above to run a safe and successful department with minimal downtime.
Participates in improvement planning – modification of welding procedures to increase safety, efficiency, and quality.
Reviews and manages timecards.
Manages goal setting, tracking and communication.
Manages reporting verification - daily production, daily maintenance downtime – report root cause analysis, daily call off, and safety audits.
Follows all safety policies and procedures.
Other duties as required and assigned.
