Also supports braiding and fabric post processing as required. Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; 7:00 am – 3:30 pm or 7:30 am – 4:00 pm; flexible Location: In-office Monday – Friday 850 Lime Hollow Rd. Cortland, NY13045 Salary Range: $21.28 - $31.93 This role is not eligible for sponsorship now or in the future.

Requirements

  • Ability to use small hand tools and precision measurement devices
  • Ability to tie yarn with appropriate knots and thread yarn through guides, needles and rollers of warping, weaving and knitting machines for pattern changes.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to critically assess and work through equipment and manufacturing issues.
  • Ability to identify potential issues and proactively recommend and implement solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other functions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines
  • Detail oriented, innovative, and self-motivated
  • High school diploma (or GED)
  • 3+ years of textile manufacturing experience; Experience specifically in weaving, warp knitting, weft knitting, and/or braiding preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within a ISO13485 manufacturing environment (or similarly regulated) including Good Documentation Practices (GDP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act in a safe manner in all activities performed and promote the Safety Program in all processes and procedures
  • Ensures all quality standards and requirements are met in operation of manufacturing equipment, inspection of product and packaging tasks
  • Adhere strictly to all applicable procedures, work instructions and forms while performing assigned tasks
  • Complete all tasks efficiently and correctly as assigned by supervisory and planning personnel
  • Clean, set up, thread, monitor and maintain warping, weaving and knitting production equipment and ensure all materials are readily available
  • Support braiding and post processing of fabrics when assigned
  • Identify potential issues and proactively recommend and implement solutions
  • Follow instructions and manage multiple tasks to meet production deadlines and customer satisfaction
  • Report any deficiencies in material, product, or process immediately per current procedures
  • Support other manufacturing areas, shifts, and overtime hours as needed to support customer delivery expectations
  • Complete all inventory and packaging entries as required ensuring that the information is correct and accurate
  • Conduct 5S, operator maintenance and housekeeping activities as assigned
  • Understand and apply the Quality Policy, quality documentation, and company objectives to all tasks assigned
  • Act in a courteous and professional manner at all times, within a team environment, ensuring sustainment of Cortland Company’s reputation as a world class supplier
  • Promote and participate in LEAD (Lean Enterprise Across Disciplines) transformation through application of lean principles to rapidly improve manufacturing and key LEAD metrics
  • Yarn preparation activities.
  • Knitting machines set-up and run.
  • Weaving machines set-up and run.
  • Fabric post processing for NPD support.
  • Pattern setups on equipment.
  • Initial machine setups and FAIs.
  • Advanced problem solving.
  • Advanced preventative maintenance.
  • Support engineering in the development of new patterns, fabrics, or materials.
  • Preventative maintenance of assigned equipment.
  • Changeovers for assigned equipment.
