Our Opportunity Our Biomedical Engineering & Sciences Practice is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician 1 or 2 in our Philadelphia, PA office. The individual in this position will be responsible for technical functions in support of the Biomedical Engineering Practice and other groups that utilize the lab. Duties will include design and construction of test fixtures, nonstandard testing, and assisting engineers with inspections. The individual in this position will also be responsible for maintaining the laboratory, coordinating the calibration of laboratory equipment, and stocking general purpose lab supplies.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of experience working in a biomedical engineering lab or equivalent AA degree or equivalent technical experience
  • Fabrication, plumbing, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Hands-on skills ability to operate common construction and machine tools (lathe, mill, band saw, etc.) Excellent verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrated dedication to quality and accuracy as well as the ability to work well independently
  • Must be versatile, team-oriented, willing to work overtime, and travel as needed
  • Understanding quality management systems (e.g. ISO 17025, ISO 9001 or equivalent)

  • Building, conducting and documenting tests using mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Performing various tasks in a lab environment
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and tools
  • Participating in keeping the facility clean
