About The Position

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated full-time/part-time Technician: Biomedical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that all biomedical equipment is operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. Your responsibilities will include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, conducting repairs, and documenting all service activities to support operational reliability and minimize downtime. You will evaluate equipment performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions that enhance functionality and ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines and manufacturer specifications. You will collaborate closely with clinical departments, vendors, and other technical staff to address equipment needs, support the installation and calibration of new devices, and assist in continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment performance and patient safety. Additionally, you will monitor equipment trends, prepare service reports, and contribute to the development of strategies that strengthen the organization’s biomedical engineering practices. This position is vital to maintaining a safe and effective healthcare environment and ensuring that clinical teams have the reliable tools they need to provide excellent patient care. As an integral member of our technical and clinical support team, you will work closely with patients, physicians, and healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality, dependable biomedical services. The biomedical equipment technician (BMET) is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and calibrating medical equipment used in the hospital. The technician ensures proper functionality and patient safety by performing preventative maintenance, problem solving / troubleshooting issues and providing training on equipment usage to staff. The BMET also provides crucial support in the management of hospital equipment including inventory replacement plans. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering Technology.
  • Must have at least two (2) years experience as a Biomedical Technician.
  • Must have knowledge of inventory management, equipment maintenance, tracking and documentation of equipment, Biomed software management and policy and procedure development.
  • Current AHA BLS certification for Heart Saver is required.
  • Strong computer knowledge (Microsoft Office, electronic health record).
  • Demonstrates ability to read, write, and clearly express one’s self in English 100% of the time.
  • Demonstrates ability to listen.
  • Demonstrates ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken work, to impart oral information to others or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional vendor certifications are strongly desired, but not required.
  • Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) certification is desired but not required.
  • Additional languages are desired but not required.
