About The Position

The TRIMEDX Biomedical and Imaging Engineering Apprenticeship Program is a 24-month hybrid training initiative designed to cultivate both biomedical equipment technician (BMET) and imaging engineering capabilities. This program blends traditional academic instruction with immersive, hands-on experience in healthcare technology management. Apprentices will gain foundational and advanced skills by shadowing seasoned clinical professionals-including biomedical technicians, and imaging engineers-under the guidance of TRIMEDX leadership. The curriculum includes coursework from accredited institutions, web-based training modules, industry seminars, and in-person technical workshops. The program is structured to provide comprehensive exposure to both BMET and imaging engineering disciplines, preparing participants for versatile roles in healthcare technology service.

Requirements

  • Basic to intermediate computer proficiency and ability to learn proprietary software.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical publications and schematics.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service orientation.
  • Valid driver's license required; travel may be necessary depending on site assignment.

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening which will include a limited background check and screen for illegal substance use.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in on-the-job training alongside experienced biomedical and imaging engineering professionals.
  • Develop and apply client relationship and communication skills in clinical environments.
  • Learn the daily workflow of healthcare engineers and how to operate effectively within hospital settings.
  • Respond to service calls and assist with equipment troubleshooting, calibration, and repair.
  • Train in preventive maintenance procedures, electrical safety standards, and vendor coordination.
  • Perform inventory validation and real-time service tasks under supervision.
  • Engage in imaging-specific training to build competencies in diagnostic equipment support.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our proprietary CMMS system.
  • All other duties as assigned.
