This role involves approving and maintaining documents for medical equipment inventory, coordinating work projects related to medical equipment removal and redeployment, and working with internal customers, vendors, and co-workers on capital equipment planning. It also includes collaborating with vendors and construction contractors for scheduling and coordinating the removal and installation of high-end medical devices, ensuring proper documentation for equipment changes, and managing the disposition of medical devices. Administrative duties such as composing correspondence, relaying confidential information, developing reports, and maintaining records are also part of the role. The specialist will work with accounting and purchasing to track equipment purchases, removals, and capital expenses, and will track and maintain JCAHO and other regulatory information. Additionally, the role involves creating and assigning work orders and managing the inventory portion of the Biomedical CMMS system.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of related experience
  • Understanding of medical equipment
  • Experience with Microsoft: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Explorer, Publisher, SharePoint, Kronos, Service Now and Lawson

Responsibilities

  • Approve and maintain documents for medical equipment inventory
  • Coordinate work projects associated with removal and/or redeployment of medical equipment related to projects
  • Work with internal customers/vendors/co-workers related to capital equipment planning
  • Work with vendors and construction contractors for scheduling and coordinating removal and installation of high end medical devices
  • Ensure proper documentation is filled out for equipment that is removed or added
  • Responsibility includes the disposition of small medical devices and works in conjunction with Biomed Procurement Specialist on selling of larger assets to insure proper final disposition
  • Perform administrative duties such as composing and typing correspondence, relaying confidential information, gathering and interpreting information to develop and distribute complex reports, maintaining inventory records, files, policies, and manuals
  • Work with accounting and purchasing personnel to ensure accurate tracking of equipment purchases, removal, and capital expenses
  • Tracking and maintaining JCAHO and other regulatory information
  • Create/assign work orders and create/maintain inventory portion of the Biomedical CMMS system
