About The Position

This is a full-time position and will require the flexibility to travel or relocate to all Scripps Health sites systemwide. Must be available to work Monday-Friday, rotating on-call shifts, and weekends as needed. This position involves physical tasks such as lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling. The Biomed Engineering Tech performs general hands-on service and technical tasks including but not limited to safety testing, preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment in the medical equipment management plan. Maintains documentation and reporting of service activity. Manage asset life cycle. Coordinates repairs and preventive maintenance with vendor representatives from outside firms. Works as a team to ensure all equipment is properly managed, and serves as knowledge resource to end users regarding equipment.

Requirements

  • A.A. in electronics or equivalent education in biomedical technology or equivalent military training or education

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of basic human anatomy and physiology
  • Healthcare experience
  • Knowledge of computer networks
  • AAMI CABT or AAMI CBET certifications
  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Net+ or equivalent certifications
  • Proficient and knowledgeable with applicable regulatory requirements. CMS-TJC-NFPA-HIPAA, etc.
