What you’ll do as a Billing Specialist Ensures customer payment terms are correct and monitors aging of invoices; making collection calls as necessary Works closely with internal stakeholders and customers on collections Maintains files, update and track collections status and comments Generates billing for Fixed Price, Time & Materials and Cost-Plus Fee contracts Reconciles billing to monthly project summaries to ensure billing accuracy and completeness Coordinate billing review and approval with program manager and billing supervisor Submit customer billing through customer portals for your own projects and others on the team Ensures processes adhere to company procedures and deadlines with accurate and timely results Collaborate with the billing team on group projects as needed Performs additional duties or special projects as needed Billing Specialist Requirements Four to five years of accounting experience or at least two years of accounting/business administration college credit hours High School Diploma Proficiency in Excel Strong oral and written communication skills necessary to interact diplomatically and tactfully with all levels of internal and external customers with the highest level of professionalism Demonstrated attention to detail Professional, reliable, willing to learn and take initiative Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines Billing Specialist Preferences Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field Prior work experience in a government contracting environment, billing cost reimbursable contracts, time and materials and fixed price Deltek Costpoint billing experience Experience with State Department of Transportation, Federal Highways, and Department of Defense contracts Experience using Wide Area Workflow for government billing Prior experience working collections and communicating with customers HYBRID WORK NOTICE: This position is available for hybrid work consideration at any of our division offices.
