About The Position

Billing Specialist will be responsible for the creation, submission and auditing of durable medical equipment billing.

Requirements

• Medical Billing Certification. (Preferred) or the equivalent of 2 years billing experience.
• 2 years of previous billing experience (DME billing preferred).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) - (intermediate or advanced level preferred).
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Advanced interpersonal / verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer and billing software skills (Noble house, preferred).

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct and timely billing to reduce rejects.
• Responsible for the process of reconciling payments and re-submission of denials.
• Effective communication with patients, internal staff, medical plans; among others as needed.
• Verify and correct HCPCS codes and maintain updated fee schedules.
• Ensure compliance with medical policies.
• Send and follow up on invoices.
• Responsible for the billing of secondary plans and patient collections.
• Responsible for reviewing and auditing accounts receivable.
• Proficient in billing software and information management.
• Investigate and resolve billing problems and refer to Supervisor.
