About The Position

Private non-profit organization is seeking a billing specialist. Agency has a reputation for providing quality customer service to clients of all ages in the West Valley region of San Bernardino County. Looking for a strong administrative person with organizational skills to join our skilled team. Under the direction of the Director of Operations and Finance, will perform various tasks.

Requirements

High School Diploma required ( Some college credits preferred)
A minimum of one year experience with Medi-Cal billing
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Products (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Detail oriented individual
Ability to Multi-Task
Work independently
Possess excellent communication skills
Possess a valid California driver's license, personal automobile insurance and driving record that meets the standards outlined in the Agency’s Personnel Policy; Motor Vehicle Operating Standards

Responsibilities

Data entry into Avatar(County) and Netsmart(WEFCS) electronic health records systems
Utilization of County electronic health record systems for claiming and billing process
Generation of reports to help with reconciliation of units of service, opening and closing of charts in County System
Verification of county Medi-Cal and other health insurance, help with the resolution of these issues (i.e., following up with additional insurance carriers)
Support ongoing communication with Directors, Quality Assurance and Clinicians when billing/chart issues arise.
Work closely with the Director of Operations and Finance to rectify any denials and unprocessed claims.
Be available to assist with front office duties (see Administrative Support Specialist job description) as instructed by the Director of Operations and Finance.
Other duties as needed by the Agency.
