About The Position

The Rockbridge Area Health Center is currently recruiting a full-time Billing Specialist to join the Finance Team. The Billing Specialist maximizes reimbursements for patient services by performing complex clerical and accounting functions for patient billing. They review claims, follow-up on submitted claims, resubmit claims after correcting inaccuracies, and research proper billing techniques.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year experience in billing procedures in a medical facility
• Front and back-office healthcare experience, preferably in Dental
• Demonstrated strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
• Knowledge of billing guidelines and policies of Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party billing to ensure comprehensive payment
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal/external customers while maintaining a professional approach
• Excellent customer service skills
• Proficiency with MS Office and billing/healthcare systems

Nice To Haves

• Certification in billing or coding preferred
