About The Position

At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Riverside, CA ! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Riverside, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Riverside, CA Schedule: TBD Rate is betweem $25 and $35 per hour

Requirements

  • Valid teaching credential required (Special Education preferred)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
  • Direct experience working with students with autism and IEPs
  • Strong background in functional academics and transition/college readiness skills
  • Experience supporting reading fluency and comprehension at the elementary level
  • Solid understanding of math concepts at the middle school level (problem-solving, real-world application)
  • Familiarity with ABA-informed strategies and supporting students with moderate behaviors
  • Skilled in building independence, motivation, and self-confidence in learners
  • Patient, calm, and able to support students who may shut down or withdraw when frustrated
  • Ability to conduct and use assessment data to guide individualized instruction

Responsibilities

  • Conduct an initial assessment to determine current academic levels and develop targeted goals
  • Provide individualized instruction in reading fluency and comprehension, with a strong emphasis on understanding and applying information
  • Deliver math instruction focused on strengthening core concepts, problem-solving, and real-life application
  • Support development of functional academic skills aligned with post-secondary readiness
  • Implement structured, consistent sessions with clear expectations and routines
  • Use step-by-step instruction and scaffolding to support comprehension and reduce overwhelm
  • Apply ABA-informed and behavior-support strategies to maintain engagement and participation
  • Support independence, task completion, and confidence in academic settings
  • Incorporate student interests (e.g., music, YouTube, restaurants) to increase motivation and engagement
  • Provide a supportive and patient learning environment, especially during moments of withdrawal or frustration
  • Communicate regularly with caregivers regarding progress and instructional adjustments
