CenterWell is seeking a hard-working and dedicated Referral Coordinator - Remote VSP - Orlando, FL, to prepare and process all managed care referral paperwork, schedules and pre-registers patients for exams and procedures with specialists and providers outside of the primary care physician's office and who is interested in being part of a team that focuses on excellent service to others. Job Functions: This position is REMOTE-Work at Home-Orlando, FL Prepares and processes all managed care referral paperwork. Gathers pertinent information from physicians, nurse practitioners and nursing staff to complete referrals. Contacts various offices/facilities to obtain necessary appointments for completing referrals. Maintains referral records and files documentation. Responds to patient inquiries regarding health plan referrals. Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations. Requirements

  • 1-3 years of hands-on healthcare experience in a clinical setting, preferably within the Medicare population
  • Referral experience is MANDATORY
  • Proficient with medical terminology
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records
  • Excellent professional communication abilities, at all levels within the organization and with patients, at all times
  • Bilingual English & Spanish
  • Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
  • Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field.

  • Knowledge of ICD 10 and CPT coding
