About The Position

The Bilingual Patient Navigator plays a vital role in supporting patients by ensuring timely access to healthcare services, coordinating referrals, and maintaining accurate records. This position requires strong customer service skills, bilingual fluency in Spanish, and healthcare experience. The navigator acts as a liaison between patients, clinicians, and administrative staff to promote smooth patient flow and enhance overall satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bilingual Spanish (required).
  • Associate’s Degree or Business Institute Certificate.
  • Two years of administrative or executive assistant experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and physician billing practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency, including typing and data entry.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain calm under pressure.
  • Customer service and patient advocacy.
  • Patient referrals coordination.
  • Healthcare experience.
  • Data entry and record management.
  • Reception/front desk experience (minimum 2 years).

Nice To Haves

  • Scanning and document management.
  • Handling inbound calls and patient demographics.
  • Experience with Dentrix and EMR systems.
  • Community outreach and back-office support.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients, assisting them in accessing services promptly.
  • Answer and route telephone calls, provide information to callers, and take clear, concise messages to ensure effective communication.
  • Maintain patient charts, clinic logs, and health center databases.
  • Schedule medical and dental appointments, manage appointment books, and ensure provider coverage for efficient patient flow.
  • Verify demographic and insurance information, including authorizations and precertifications.
  • Organize meetings, arrange equipment/refreshments, and prepare necessary materials.
  • Initiate follow-up calls and gather information to support well-organized events.
  • File and scan documents to maintain complete patient and office records.
  • Assist with patient registration and billing when needed.
  • Audit office supplies monthly, document needs, and order replacements.
  • Submit IT and facilities work orders as required.
  • Distribute patient surveys and assessments.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to patients and guests.
  • Handle dental patient calls and transfer to appropriate providers when necessary.
  • Update MSDS book and Quality Assurance manual.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Front Office Coordinator and Health Center Manager.
