About The Position

Fibre Federal Credit Union is seeking a Full- Time Bilingual Marketing and Community Development Coordinator to join our team. Helps the Credit Union establish and maintain a consistent presence in designated areas, with a particular focus on Hispanic communities. This position identifies and coordinates appropriate opportunities for community engagement to advance our organizational goals and further develop our brand. Responsible for conducting financial education presentations to a variety of audiences. All efforts contribute to the betterment of our communities - one of the Credit Union’s Core Values. Must have the ability to communicate fluently in Spanish.

  • Work Hours - Will vary from regular office hours due to the nature and needs of this position. Must be flexible, as certain assignments may require early morning, evening, overnight, and/or weekend hours.
  • Travel - The individual must be comfortable driving a Credit Union automobile, have access to a personal automobile, possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record, and maintain adequate automobile related insurance. Must be able to travel between services centers and communities on a regular basis. Credit Union automobiles are preferred for travel; however, a personal automobile may be needed in rare instances.
  • Physical Requirements - The individual must be able to gather, pack, load/unload, and set up related materials up to 50 pounds at presentation sites and events. Must be able to read computer screens for extended periods of time and have finger/hand dexterity for keyboarding and the operation of all other office machinery. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time as needed and have the physical ability to climb stairs and/or walk a distance.

  • Possess high school diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual Skill/Proficiency - The individual must have the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend fluently in both Spanish and English to assist Spanish speaking members. Bilingual employees must pass a Spanish language test according to policy.
  • Licensing/Certification - Achieve appropriate financial education certification within 12 months of employment.
  • Must be bondable

Nice To Haves

  • A two-year degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or two years' banking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Marketing and Community Development Manager to execute department-specific areas of the Credit Union’s Hispanic Outreach Plan, exploring new opportunities and acting as a key knowledge resource by gathering insights and sharing learnings.
  • Supports translation of Marketing’s communications, including bilingual (English/Spanish) copywriting, editing, coordination, and delivery across channels.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing team to create and publish organic social content across channels that showcase community engagement and encourage participation, including responding to social comments and messages during events they attend or oversee.
  • Increases the Credit Union’s visibility and support for community programs and events that provide positive exposure and membership growth. Regularly attends meetings and events with organizations, such as Chambers of Commerce, business organizations, wellness fairs, and community events.
  • Cultivates relationships with community partners to expand the Credit Union’s impact, reputation, brand, and membership penetration.
  • Maintains records of Credit Union volunteer and business development efforts. Coordinates staff presence at community events, including the creation and follow-up of these events within community engagement software.
  • Assists department leadership with coordination and execution of the Community Champion Program, encouraging continued volunteerism among staff.
  • Coordinates donation and sponsorship requests. Fulfills related needs, such as preparing giveaways (Credit Union merchandise, gift baskets, etc.) and providing relevant marketing materials.
  • Maintains awareness of potential opportunities and audiences for financial education initiatives, sharing insights with department leadership. Collaborates with the department leadership to ensure presentations are delivered consistently and effectively. Leads financial education sessions for diverse audiences, from youth to adults, on a variety of subjects. Additionally, coordinates larger educational events, such as financial reality fairs, poverty simulations, and retirement simulations.
  • Supports the development and execution of the Credit Union’s political advocacy efforts.
  • Coordinates Credit Union event supplies (e.g., canopies, tablecloths) for volunteer, business development, or career-related activities.
  • Assists with general duties and tasks related to Community Development and collaborative departmental projects, such as fulfillment of requests for volunteer shirts, youth account gift cards, and Bark Box supplies. Other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all procedures and services provided by the Credit Union.
