About The Position

Assist in all supervisor duties for the bike park. Including but not limited to: day to day tasks & delegation, scheduling, daily logs, forms, trail maintenance and building, minor corrective action, supervision of crew, risk management, training, and guest relations. Supervisor must demonstrate strong leadership, organization, prioritization, delegation, project management skills, and coordination with the Bike Park Manager, Timberline staff, contractors and outside agencies.

Requirements

  • Must be able to qualify as a Timberline driver.
  • Must follow instructions as given by Bike Park Manager and Mountain Operations Manager.
  • Ability to work long hours in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work in remote environment with self-sufficiency, including tending to hydration and meal needs without leaving the work site.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Skilled in the use of a variety of hand tools on uneven and rugged terrain, chainsaw and equipment experience preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to handle any Bike Park Department needs as necessary.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with Bike Park crew and others.
  • Ability to ride a mountain bike and a majority of bike park trails.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
  • Must present a mature, professional and positive attitude at all times.
  • Must abide by all requirements set forth in Timberline Employee Handbook.
  • Must be flexible and capable of bending, twisting and kneeling.
  • Must be able to work in trail building gear, walking, standing for up to 8 hrs. or longer
  • Must be able to keep up with pace of department/position demands.
  • Must be able to frequently lift a minimum of 50lbs+.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to shovel, rake in all types of terrain in all types of weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Run day to day operations including opening, closing, scheduling, minor corrective action, workflow and communication with all involved departments.
  • Work closely with Bike Park Manager.
  • Aid in training all Trail Crew positions.
  • Assist in creating weekly and daily maintenance and construction task lists.
  • Teach and Practice sound safety protocols for yourself and the trail crew.
  • Understand and carry out corrective action protocols.
  • Attend all manager supervisor trainings scheduled by HR.
  • Attend management meetings when requested.
  • Supervise Trail Crew and daily operations.
  • Filling out daily inspection and maintenance logs.
  • Remain in compliance with risk management and protocols.
  • Assist Ski Patrol with guest injuries as needed.
  • Act as Bike Park Manager in their absence.
  • Install and maintain park signage, closures, trail markings, fencing and banner tape.
  • Monitor trails and features by visual inspection and testing according to company policy.
  • Work with a variety of hand tools to shape trail features, berms and drainage.
  • Daily inspection of all trails.
  • Performance of all maintenance tasks required in sustainable trail operations, cleaning of sediment traps, raking, digging, etc.
  • Assist with mulching, erosion control & monitoring.
  • Assist with revegetation and clean-up.
  • Assist with construction of fencing, wood bridges and other features.
  • Operation of trail building equipment, Excavators/Canycom’s/UTV’s/Quads.
  • Assist with trash or debris removal. Ensure recyclable materials from your area of business are taken to correct location and placed in appropriate containers.
  • Tool maintenance.
  • Obtain and maintain Basic First Aid/CPR/AED training.
  • Other duties as assigned by Timberline management.
  • Exercise sound judgment and awareness regarding language, behavior, and dress and grooming.
  • Actively participate in RLK and Company’s Health & Safety Program by identifying and reporting potential hazards, reporting incidents, and promoting a healthy workplace.
  • Exercise stewardship of all RLK and Company facilities and environments, ensuring that efforts are made to reduce, reuse, and recycle when the opportunity is present.
