About The Position

As a Bid Manager, your primary objective is to successfully lead and manage the End-to-End bid process to secure new business opportunities and specific contract renewals for our organization, starting from an indicative offer to a binding proposal and an agreed contract signature. This role involves a combination of project management, development of a commercial and technical solution, a general (sales) strategic thinking approach, stakeholder management and effective communication in a cross-functional project environment in the data center service industry.

Requirements

  • Strong affinity for sales, proposal development, and the drafting and interpretation of legal documents, commercial terms, and contract solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels and engage proactively with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability for issues, ensuring timely resolution, clear communication, and appropriate escalation when required.
  • Ability to interpret complex and technically detailed opportunities, including commercial terms, technical specifications, and implementation requirements.
  • Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to adapt methodologies to fast-moving, dynamic environments and deliver pragmatic solutions within tight timeframes.
  • Solid understanding of data center industry solutions, services, and technical concepts, with the ability to adapt to rapid industry change.
  • Strong executive-level presentation skills and professional communication style.
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English.

  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads, manage multiple bids concurrently, and maintain accuracy under pressure.

  • Ability to process large volumes of information and maintain clear communication in fast-paced environments with changing priorities.
  • High proficiency with Salesforce, SAP, and similar CRM tools, as well as advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and strong capability in using AI-based productivity tools.
  • Proactive mindset with strong time-management skills and the ability to drive tasks independently.
  • Strong intercultural competence and experience working effectively in global, diverse teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Business, technical, or other advanced degree with a minimum of ten years experience.
  • Five years of Bid Management experience, ideally in the data center colocation industry.
  • Familiarity with Bid Management methodology.
  • Five years of bid-management professional experience, ideally in the data center colocation industry or with a provider of complex technical systems and/or solutions or in a comparable industry with complex pursuits (e.g. telecommunication, manufacturing, facility services).
  • Two year minimum experience with data center operators or a parallel industry.
  • Two years of progressive experience in a large sales organization.
  • Remain stationary in a sit/stand motion at a computer for long periods with adequate breaks.
  • Operate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment.
  • Perform work during US business hours and time zones.
  • Availability during US business hours and time zones with limited external disruptions.
  • Perform work from a remote location with stable internet connection.

Nice To Haves

  • Designation of PMP or additional certifications preferred.
  • Occasional global meeting requirements early/late outside of local business hours (within reason).
  • Travel required up to 10% of time for specialized work events.
  • Frequently attendance in a virtual work setting using video and audio functions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full bid lifecycle—from qualification through submission and handover to Delivery—to ensure timely and compliant execution in the Strategic, Enterprise or colocation retail space.
  • Lead the creation of high-quality key sales deliverables (proposals, customer presentation, contract packs, approval material and other deal-related documentation), including supporting the definition of the sales strategy and tactics to increase our win ratio.
  • Coordinate, examine, and scrutinize the final contracts and proposals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, technical experts, finance, legal, etc, to gather the necessary information and insights required for a winning proposal.
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with the bid and develop strategies to mitigate those risks. This includes a deep understanding of commercial, legal and compliance requirements and solutions with impact analysis to ensure that decisions do not carry negative impact to the upstream and downstream processes, systems, or teams within the organization.
  • Understand the specific data center services related to technical demands and the key commercial terms and conditions that differentiate the clients needs around power, fit out, or customized criteria.
  • Ensure that the solution aligns with the organization’s financial goals and objectives.
  • Play an active role in contract negotiation: leading or participating in the contract negotiations with a client organization in cooperation with all internal subject matter experts.
  • Effectively communicate with customers about our technical capabilities and commercial proposition in written and oral communication.
  • Comprehensive internal communication and documentation of the project status to the team and the stakeholders.
