About The Position

This position is for the full academic year, open only to enrolled upperclassmen. Freshmen are not eligible to apply for this position. Expected hours of work per week : 5-10 hours per week Work Location & Hours : Sanderson; Mon-Fri 8am - 11:30pm; Sat 8am-10pm Resume Skills Development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed Career & Self-Development - this work study position will prepare students interested in a wide range of ministry positions after college; it is also especially suitable for students who are interested in pursuing a seminar or graduate school. Communication - someone who will occasionally communicate with fellow BTS majors about upcoming BTS Fellowship events. Critical Thinking - someone who is comfortable reading and engaging with scholarly work (on those occasions where the professor is requesting critical feedback on writing projects) Global Literacy - not applicable Professionalism - someone who understands appropriate etiquette when communicating via email with fellow students and helps organize occasional events. Technology - someone who is comfortable working with Covenant's Canvas system. Also, there may be times the student needs to access library material for the professor. Requirements

  • Current Covenant College student
  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing
  • Minimum 3.00 GPA
  • Adequate knowledge of the methods of research
  • Strong reading and writing skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Strong character and integrity
  • Comfortable working with Covenant's Canvas system
  • Comfortable reading and engaging with scholarly work
  • Understands appropriate etiquette when communicating via email with fellow students

Nice To Haves

  • Biblical & Theological Studies major/minor preferred
  • Interest in theology, biblical studies, church history, vocational ministry, seminary, etc. preferred

Responsibilities

  • Grade objective portions of exams, quizzes, reading assignments, etc.
  • Carry out basic research for professors' writing projects
  • Edit writing materials by professors
  • Tutor other students
  • Proctor exams, quizzes, etc. as needed
  • Photocopy essays, books, handouts, etc. as needed
  • Revise/update previous exams, quizzes, notes, etc.
  • Audit faculty supervisor's courses
  • Regularly report to the faculty supervisor
