Position Summary: This position works collaboratively with the BI, TA and AU Waiver Program Managers to determine waiver program eligibility for all three waivers. Processes information obtained from various sources in accordance with standard procedures, rules and regulations. Process Upload Utility notices regarding eligibility. Process notices regarding, deaths, moves out of state and other removals from the BI/TA/AU Waivers, and update KAMIS information as necessary. Follow up with KDHE on financial eligibility inquiries which come to KDADS on all three programs. Work with KDHE regarding WORK and STEPS transitions. Works in collaboration with the KDADS Contracts Program Manager or appropriate assessing entities to assure all procedures are and reporting are adhered to. Manage AU Proposed Recipient List, including offer round task duties. Collect data for monthly LTSS reports, as directed, and relay information to Program Managers and/or HCBS Director.

  • The Specialist serves as the main point of contact for program eligibility questions from assessing entities and MCOs, KDHE, and consumer and their families for the BI, AU and TA waivers. In conjunction with the assigned Waiver Program Managers, the Specialist shall approve or deny waiver eligibility following the guidelines set out by the waivers. The Specialist will issue 3160s and 3161s as appropriate. The Specialist will ensure daily processing of all three waivers, as necessitated by email box workload.
  • Follow up with KDHE on financial eligibility inquiries which come to KDADS.
  • Work with KDHE regarding WORK and STEPS transitions.
  • Works in collaboration with the KDADS Contracts Program Manager and assessing entities to assure all procedures are followed and reporting adhered to for all three waivers.
  • Processes Exception Requests as directed by the BI/AU/TA Waiver Program Managers, and as approved by HCBS Administrative Manager.
  • Collect data for monthly LTSS reports, as directed, and relay information to Program Manager and/or HCBS Director.
  • Completes special projects and performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to ensuring the agency is adequately staffed during and immediately following natural and/or manmade disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, and/or acts of terrorism. Assists other employees in the work unit in accomplishing assignments as necessary.
  • One year of experience in professional administrative support work
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • High School diploma
  • Knowledge of HCBS services system.
