About The Position

The Carruth Center for Counseling and Psychological Services at West Virginia University is currently seeking applicants for a BeWell Coordinator. About the Opportunity: This position has three key components: clinical services, program administration and evaluation, and outreach and coordination. This position will be responsible for providing brief assessment/crises intervention, triage, linkage, and short-term intervention and support as appropriate for Health Science students with diverse presenting behavioral health concerns. As an integral member of the CCCPS team, the BeWell Clinician/Coordinator will provide a range of clinical and outreach services and will participate broadly as needed in the supervision and training of professional trainees. Under the direction of the Carruth Center’s leadership team, the BeWell Clinician /Coordinator will deliver and collaboratively supervise clinical services at the Health Sciences Center. Requirements

• Completed a master's or doctoral level degree from an accredited program in counseling, social work, or clinical/counseling psychology
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in BH assessment and counseling for traditional and nontraditional-aged university students and/or transitional-aged youth.
• Proficiency in conducting and documenting risk assessments for suicide and violence
• Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered
• All qualifications must be met by the time of employment
• Knowledge, skills, and expertise required to proficiently conduct, document and evaluate multiculturally sensitive BH assessments, risk assessments, individual and group counseling, case management, crisis intervention, supervision, and consultation/outreach.
• Demonstrated clinical competence and skills working with substance use and other co-occurring disorders.
• Knowledge, skills, and expertise required to participate in clinical and academic teams that develop, implement, and evaluate the clinical and prevention services for HSC students populations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and sustain partnerships with HSC and CCCPS faculty and staff.
• Effective teamwork skills.
• Ability to effectively utilize an electronic health record system.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge, skills, and expertise required to proficiently participate in the education of trainees
• Knowledge, skills and expertise to effectively partner with leadership to manage program development, implementation and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide multiculturally sensitive BH assessment, triage, linkage, and brief counseling services for Health Science students and when needed other students on the WVU campus
• Provide clinical services including but not limited to assessment, treatment planning, brief counseling, group therapy, crisis intervention services, psychoeducation, and case management.
• Provide and document risk assessments and risk reduction interventions.
• Facilitate HSC and other WVU student access and transition to appropriate mental health providers for ongoing pharmacologic and behavioral therapies
• Provide case management for the HSC students who require specialized or longer-term care
• Work collaboratively with CCCPS, the CARE team and HSC faculty and staff to establish suicide prevention and risk reduction strategies
• In collaboration with leadership and CCCPS, provide strategic consultation to HSC leadership and other campus collaborators to develop and support various HSC wide initiatives promoting suicide prevention, student health, resilience, and wellness
• Participate in the staffing of the CCCPS/BeWell after-hours service
• Develop, provide, and assess consultation and outreach to students and their families, WVU faculty/staff, and the university community
• Complete required documentation on an electronic health record system and quality assurance activities including routine monitoring and management of student treatment compliance in accordance with agency policies and state and federal regulations.
• Attend case conferences, committees, and task forces related to the mission of HSC, CCCPS, Student Life, and the broader WVU community
• Provide clinical supervision to trainees and facilitate seminars on a variety of clinical or professional topics
• Work with Clinical Director, to track clinical data related to HSC student use of clinical services at the embedded office and CCCPS
• Provide clinical and administrative supervision for trainees and clinical staff
• Participate in wellness activities at regional campuses as needed, traveling to regional campuses and other venues as necessary
• Work outside of typical business hours as required. May include scheduled clinical sessions after 5:00 pm
