About The Position

The Benevolent Ministry Coordinator provides compassionate, organized, and relational support to individuals and families seeking financial or practical assistance through Berean's Benevolence Ministry. This role oversees the full benevolence intake and care process - from initial contact and assessment to follow-up and reporting, ensuring that every individual receives thoughtful, dignified, and appropriate support.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or education in social work, psychology, sociology, or related fields.
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office and Planning Center.
  • Experience with caregiving or benevolence training programs
  • Experience with caregiving specifically people in crisis

Responsibilities

  • Respond to benevolence calls, emails, and initial requests; guide individuals to forms and next steps
  • Review submitted forms to assess whether candidates meet basic assistance guidelines.
  • Schedule and conduct benevolence intake meetings and gather required information.
  • Maintain digital case files, meeting notes, and documentation for every intake.
  • Maintain and update a comprehensive list of community support resources.
  • Track benevolence disbursements and prepare check requests.
  • Manage client workflows and produce monthly benevolence reports.
  • Lead and support the Benevolence Volunteer Team.
  • Build relationships with community partners and attend networking meetings
  • Coordinate Welcome Baskets and delivery efforts.
  • Provide follow up care to clients via phone or email around 2 months after assistance is given
  • Equip staff and volunteers with procedures for walk ins and community resource materials.
