About The Position

The Benefits Manager is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k) plan and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Additionally, the Benefits Manager will have oversite for the administration all leave of absence, including but not limited to FMLA, CFRA and ADA.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • 10 years of Human Resources experience
  • Ability to utilize personal computers and Windows-driven programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Assists HR leadership with the development and implementation of benefit plans. Inclusive of Self-Insured administration of benefit plans.
  • Manages the open enrollment set up and process.
  • Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the UltiPro to provide carriers with accurate eligibility information.
  • Conduct Benefits Onboarding with all new hires.
  • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data to ensure accuracy of benefit enrollments.
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
  • Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes.
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
  • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Manages the 401(k) plan for the Bank.
  • Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.
  • Assist in the administration of the ESOP.
  • Assist HR Team on annual events for employees and community.
  • Administers the Banks Workers’ Compensation, Injury Illness and Prevention Program, safety training and ergonomics.
  • Maintains a current understanding of Federal and State Leave Laws.
  • Assumes responsibility for special projects as assigned.
  • Maintains a current understanding of equal employment opportunities, discrimination laws, and applicable laws relating to Human Resource functions.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
