About The Position

The Benefits Coordinator will support the administration of all aspects of the Team Member benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan. The Benefits Coordinator will perform clerical and administrative duties in support of the Company’s Family Medical Leave and Personal Leave of Absence programs. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of work experience in a Human Resources position. Experience with benefits administration or leave administration preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer proficiency including experience working with various web browsers, Microsoft Excel, Work, and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Service-oriented demeanor and ability work directly with all Team Members at the property.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all Team Member accounts and records.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to adjust work schedule and work weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.
  • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
  • Ability to communicate on the telephone and in person with internal and external Guests.
  • Must be able to sit for the duration of shift.
  • Ability to view a computer monitor for duration of shift.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
  • Be knowledgeable about Thunder Valley’s benefits programs, and answer Team Member questions regarding benefit plans.
  • Assist Team Members with enrollment, changes, and any questions regarding the 401(k) plan.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating annual open enrollment for benefits programs.
  • Ensure that Team Member benefit elections are accurately recorded in all applicable HRIS platforms, performing data entry when necessary.
  • Facilitate the processing of life and disability insurance claims. Contact benefit carriers to answer questions or resolve issues when necessary.
  • Communicate Team Member benefit eligibility changes and employment status changes to benefit carriers and other vendors.
  • Continually review communication materials regarding benefits programs, ensuring that communication is accurate and thorough.
  • Process billing of various benefit programs for payment.
  • Process Team Member applications for leaves of absence including those for personal, bereavement, military, and jury duty, and Family Medical Leave.
  • Log and track Team Members leaves of absence.
  • Communicate leaves of absence policies to Team Members and ensure compliance with Company policies and applicable laws.
  • Communicate status of leave applications to Team Members, department managers, Scheduling department, Payroll department, and the appropriate members of the Human Resources department.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all Company policies and practices, local, state and federal laws and government regulations pertaining to employment and benefit practices.
  • Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, and ethics. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding Team Member issues.
