About The Position

Assists guest with their check-ins & outs. Must repeatedly be able to transport guest's luggage, as well as other belongings weighing approximately 50 pounds. Is knowledgeable about the property, as well as surrounding local area enough so to provide directions or make recommendations as requested. Exceeds guest expectations at all times.

Requirements

  • 6 months bell person experience.
  • Good communication skills needed.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to communicate with guests and respond appropriately to questions.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel products and services.
  • Strong awareness of local area attractions, events, and activities.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly and efficiently.

Nice To Haves

  • Second language is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Show guests to room while assisting them with their luggage. Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and efficiently
  • Explain all hotel facilities, their location in the hotel, hours of operation, and answer all questions about these facilities and other hotel questions.
  • Check luggage for hotel guests both for day and overnight
  • Maintain the designated stations in the lobby, standing alert to be easily summoned for fronts
  • Open doors while guests are being greeted in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the bell stand, lobby and baggage room. Keep lobby door and windows clean when not busy with guests
  • Post the daily events board and entertainment board in the lobby.
  • Maintain an open communication line through all shifts by proper use of intershift log
  • Deliver messages, amenities, and valet laundry to guest rooms
  • Perform pick-ups and drop-offs at the airport for the guests in a timely and friendly manner and inspect vehicles.
  • May perform the duties of a valet
  • Assist front desk with key inventory twice weekly
  • Escort guests to & from room while assisting them with their luggage & other belongings.
  • Explain all hotel facilities, their location in the hotel, hours of operation, & answer all questions about facilities & local area questions.
  • Maintain the designated stations in the lobby & stands alert to be assist guests or other front of house areas when requested.
  • Greets guests in a friendly & courteous manner while maintaining eye contact.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the bell stand, bell carts, lobby & baggage room.
  • Keep lobby door & windows clean when not busy with guests.
  • Assist guests with transportation needs
  • Be aware of V.I.P. and repeat guests and greet them by name.
  • Maintain an open communication line through all shifts.
  • Assists Front Desk with guest service tasks, such as, delivery of messages, faxes, amenities, valet laundry, welcome packages and other items that may need to be delivered to guests.
  • Successfully complete all other duties as assigned.
  • Valet or move guest vehicle if needed.
