About The Position

Under the supervision of the Guest Services Supervisor, the Bell Captain provides general guidance to bell/door/valet staff; greets arriving guests and assists with transporting baggage and personal belongings. The Bell Captain oversees and maintains Guest Services Desk Operations. They will also collect Valet Parking fees and enter them into the POS system. When a Guest Services Supervisor is not on duty the Bell Captain will be the on duty designee. All functions will be performed within the guidelines of the Saracen Casino Resort policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age or older upon employment.
  • High school diploma or its equivalency required.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to handle cash and make change.
  • Ability to operate a computer and POS equipment.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, other staff and customers.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and other staff.
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.
  • Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations and be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
  • Must be able to stand and walk 100% of workday.
  • Must be able to bend, lift to heights above shoulder, carry and load guest belongings up to 25 pounds continuously.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Adequate manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of bell/door experience is preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes guests by opening doors, unloading and transporting baggage.
  • Assists guests by retrieving, transporting and loading baggage.
  • Oversees and collects keys from Valet Department, and organize on Valet Board.
  • Oversees and collects Valet Tickets from Guests and issue keys to Valet Attendants for vehicle retrieval.
  • Provides guests with accurate general information about the hotel, casino, and community events.
  • Collect Valet Parking fees from Guests via cash or points and enter them into the POS system.
  • Provides guests with general information to ensure a pleasant stay in the hotel.
  • Tags and stores baggage for guests as needed.
  • Prepares work schedules, resolves minor baggage claim issues and trains staff.
  • Performs general administrative duties as required.
  • Tracks inventory of Bell Desk supplies.
  • Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
  • Assist guests with wheelchairs.
  • Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
  • Inform supervisor as necessary.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times.
  • Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and other staff.

  • Attend all necessary training meetings.
  • Assist in other projects, as directed.
